After the disappointing game against the Wanderers, the Presidents team faced UJ in the last game of the season determined to reverse the loss in the first round of matches. They could not have got off to a worse start when they were 23/3. Andile Gladile (49) and Xolani Ngumbela (42) put on a 50 run partnership before Gladile was run out looking for his 50.

Small partnerships then became the order of the day without big ones materializing but KES debutant Warren Thiel impressed with an unbeaten 57. He led the way for us to make 254 which after the start, was unexpected.

Gloomy skies greeted the UJ batsmen and we managed to pick up wickets early on for the UJ side to be 12/1, 22/2 and 55/3. Plus the run rate was being contained. With the visitors on 118/7 the rain came along with lightening and the umpires were left with no alternative but to call the game off and as UJ's run rate was well below ours we were awarded the win and the title of Champions of the league.

Gaurav Sirohi with 2/26, Arnold Ndindwa 2/18 and Thiel capping a great debut finished with 2/31 were the main wicket takers.
